degrees and diplomas

  1. Uni-CV is responsible for conferring degrees, diplomas, and academic and honorary titles, as well as other certificates, provided for by law.
  2. Uni-CV may also grant diplomas or certificates of professional training, post-secondary, postgraduate, or another level, under the terms established by law.

Article 12 

Access and admission

  1. The access and admission regime at Uni-CV complies with the law and its internal regulations.
  2. In addition to the requirements set out in the law, Uni-CV may also require candidates to demonstrate their ability to attend through knowledge or aptitude tests prepared by it, under the regulations.

Article 13

Course regulations

  1. The University Council approves the general regulations for the courses taught at Uni-CV.
  2. Each course may have a specific regulation, approved by the respective organizational unit and ratified by the University Council, which, in compliance with the applicable legal and regulatory provisions, defines:
  3. The respective scope and objectives;
  4. Its framing in the Uni-CV structures;
  5. Its direction, coordination and operating modalities, curriculum organization, duration, specific access conditions, degree or diploma it grants, as well as other rules necessary for its efficient and effective performance.

Article 14 

Scientific areas

  1. Uni-CV provides teaching and organizes scientific research around the following scientific areas:
  2. Humanities, Social Sciences, and Arts;
  3. Economic, Legal, and Political Sciences.
  4. Nature, Life and Environmental Sciences; and
  5. Exact Sciences, Technologies, and Engineering.
  1. Uni-CV, upon deliberation of the University Council and taking into account the provisions of the law, defines the content of the scientific areas as well as the respective rules and directives for structuring and functioning, with a view to the efficient and effective performance of the institution.
  2. The scientific areas referred to in no. 1 are translated into organic teaching, research, and extension units, created by deliberation of the University Council under the terms of these Statutes and the Organic Regulations.

Article 15 

Research and Extension Structures

  1. Without prejudice to the individual free initiative, Uni-CV develops fundamental or applied research activities, as well as extension activities, through its structures, under the terms of these Statutes and regulations approved by the University Council, in structures within public bodies or private individuals associated with Uni-CV or even in partnership with other entities with recognized scientific and technical competence in the field of research.
  1. The research and/or extension structures of the University, when transversal in nature, depend directly on the Rector or on the entities to whom he delegates this competence, and the other structures are inserted in the Faculties or Schools to which they are more directly concerned, due to the subject matter, without prejudice to the general supervision and integration of activities, under the applicable statutory and regulatory provisions.
  1. The regulations referred to in paragraph 1 shall include, among others, the following aspects:
  2. Name and composition of the research and/or extension structure;
  3. Structure objectives and competencies;
  4. Form of management of the research and extension structure and activities;
  5. Human and material resources assigned to the structure;
  6. Body, organizational unit, entity, or functional structure responsible for hosting and supervising the research and/or extension structure.
